Frequently Asked QuestionsQuestions About Mosaic and Its Members How
large is the club? What
are the ages of the club members? Approximately
how many members turn out for a typical event? Questions About Membership What are the benefits of joining? By joining Mosaic, you’ll receive our newsletter, the Shofar, every other month. The Shofar contains a full description of each event, the leader’s contact information, and news/articles about the club, special events and outdoor/nature information. Your membership also supports the continued existence of a Jewish outdoors club and helps us to plan the activities that best serve your needs. If you would like to sample the activities we offer before you join, anyone is welcome to attend an event as a nonmember for $5. If you decide to join the club within 30 days of attending your first Mosaic event, we’ll apply your non-member fee towards your membership. How do I join? You can download a membership application from this web site or contact our Membership chair. Please complete, sign, and return your application with your check for $25 (individual membership) or $40 (family membership) payable to "MOMC of Massachusetts." Your application will be processed within a few weeks and you will soon start receiving the Shofar, our bimonthly members’ newsletter. We offer a 10% discount if you join or renew for 2 years. The cost for 2 years for individual/single parent membership is $45 and $72 for a family membership. Non-members are welcome to join the day of the event by paying the annual $25 membership fee or they can pay a $5 single event guest fee. They may then deduct the $5 guest fee from their annual membership fee if they join within 30 days by paying the additional $20. I'm
a member but haven't been getting my newsletter. When does my membership
expire? Questions About ActivitiesI
want to go a Mosaic event but I don't know if the activity will be too
easy or too hard for me. How can I find out? What do I need to bring to an activity? Your trip coordinator can tell you if you need any special clothing or equipment, and if equipment would be available to rent for a particular activity. For hiking and skiing events in which the weather may change rapidly, we recommend that you wear layered, noncotton clothing. Our bicycling and inline skating events require that you wear helmets. However, the most important thing to bring to an activity is a good attitude! Remember that your Trip Coordinator is a volunteer who also plans to enjoy the activity. In addition, if you have any special needs or medical conditions, please be sure that your trip coordinator knows about them beforehand. Can
non-members come to Mosaic events? I
don't have a car, but would like to go on a Mosaic event. Do you arrange
carpooling? I
want to lead a trip for the Mosaic Club. Who should I contact?
